New skate park in Pula, Croatia!

On Saturday 19. March 2016. New skate park is open in Croatia with highest EU standards. This is a big step for Croatian skateboarding scene which is not developed here as in rest of the EU country's. Croatia is a country with only 4.5 million people living in it. Some EU country's towns have bigger population then our whole country. Also there is less then 500 skateboarders in this country, that's why I wanted to post this! Skateboarders work really hard to get this scene bigger and finally we are getting somewhere. We got tired of illegal warehouses, getting tickets because you have no where to skate etc. Here is a link for a video of skating in fresh new skate park!

Best skate shoes

1. Lakai Manchester Select
Amazing shoes with flexible vulcanized construction. I had bunch of different Lakai models, but these one are perfect! Lakais are good quality shoes for a low price, made only for skaters. I remember when I got my first pair of Lakais, damn! Nasty, I knew I was going to have a good time with them. Shoes give such good feel on your board. Matter of durability, well it depends how often you skate and how you skate. I am classic, doing bunch of flat ground flip tricks and mostly doing lines. Shoes are not much of a problem as much shoe laces are. I recommend as soon as you buy your shoes, if you plan to skate them same moment you bought them just get glue for shoes something like Shoe Goo. Put it on your laces and you wont have any problems for weeks! After your shoe starts being destroyed from skating in about 2-3 weeks just start putting Shoe Goo on them and you gonna make them last for extra month! They need almost no breaking in at all, sole is super comfy and they can take solid impacts. Shoes are good for gaps, I would usually jump over distant gaps more then ones with height. I am not telling you to jump like big sets, 7-8 would be max if you ask me. Also when I skate gaps I have 2 pair of socks, I don't know why I do it but it feels like bonus armor for preventing heel bruises.

2. Etnies Jameson 2
Super thin, low-top skate shoe with vulcanized profile cupsole. Shoe has thinly padded tongue and collar and sole technology which provides comfort but doesn't compromise board-feel. Anyway shoe doesn't need much time to break in and it is really good on impacts. Simple and sexy good looking shoe. I really like that model, not fan of etnies but these ones made me change my mind. Shoe is not much durable on its own and stitches on its back started getting loose for me. Maybe it's just because I am to lazy to untie my shoes when I am putting them on. Overall good shoe for a good price.

3. Emerica G-Code
Nasty looking shoe with perfect toe-cape shape. I like its mix of colors makes it awesome! Durability of G-Code is what makes it good. Board-feel is just right. Not to thin, but also not too thick either. Laces are the thing I like about them, laces last really long it's like terminator seriously. Impact that shoes can take is ridiculous. I don't know is there any negativity to say about these shoes except price of course. Looking forward to get another pair of those in shake junt version! I like its writing on the back of left shoe (WUSSUP) and on the back of right one (HATERS!)

Andrew Reynolds

Full name Andrew Michael Reynolds, but you should know him better because of his other names. Like Drew, The Boss or Turtle Boy. Anyway this topic is focused on Andrews accomplishments and his obsessive compulsive disorder, called "Madness" by Reynolds himself. Obsessive compulsive disorder is a mental disorder where people check things repeatedly. Reynolds would repeatedly lock and unlock his door before going to sleep, not few times, but like 50 or more. Also Reynolds would do small rituals due to OCD before performing his trick and what if he doesn't do the trick? Well... he would do his ritual again and again... Basically he would spend more time on rituals then on skating, he is aware of his "Madness" as he likes to call it, but he just can't control it, he is doing all that small
stuff unconsciously. That is one weird obsession.

Andrew was identified as the tenth most influential skateboarder of all time by Transworld Skateboarding magazine. I mean no wonder why, when you watch his interviews and videos he is just a really cool guy with awesome personality. Enjoys what he is doing in his life and he is respectful to everyone. Reynolds really influences skateboarding not just because he has awesome parts with mind blowing tricks, but also because he is owner of Baker Skateboards, head designer of Altamont Apparel, co-ownedr of Bakerboys Distribution and Brigada Eyewear.
Andrew in "Emerica - Stay Gold" really gave everything he could, whole part is perfect. Tricks insane just watch it yourself no need to comment that, but also put really touching music from "Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros" with small clips of the most important thing to his life, his daughter! He is the man!

Heelflip
Jaws is one of the gnarliest skaters out there. He jumps literally anything, in his videos you can see that he skates building rooftops and even bridges. That's nuts! He must be iron man or something because everyone are wondering how he is still able to walk with such impacts. Even my knees hurt just from watching his videos, absolutely insane!

Most useless products in skateboarding history!

I don't know where to start with this topic...

SKATEBOARD LEASH
So apparently skateboard leash makes your board control better. How? Yea if you don't do any kind of flip tricks... Plus some people use it to take their skateboard for a walk like it's an animal.

SKATEBOARD PADDLE
Wait... why? Skateboarding is not rowing... You have your legs to push and loose your trucks to handle corners. Congrats if you have one of these, you wasted your money successfully.

PHANTOM LIGHT BOARD
Looks like someone played too much Need For Speed: Underground 2. I mean seriously after couple hours of riding, that lights gonna be dead anyway... On the first sight maybe looks interesting but when you think twice about it, it's totally useless...

WHEELBONE
It prevents your skateboard from moving... If you are learning basics like ollie, kickflip and heelflip just put your skateboard in grass and do it! You can't learn backside or frontside flips standing in place you need movement...

... anyway I don't have much to say about these products they left me totally speechless. No comment.

Most useful product in skateboarding history!

Skateboarders always freak out when their shoes are pretty much dead from doing tricks because of grip tape so they are thinking about buying new ones. Well I hate changing skate shoes that often because I need time breaking in them and getting used to them. Usually I would throw my new shoes in microwave for minute to make them softer.
(DON'T DO IT IF YOUR SHOES HAVE METAL ON THEM!)
When your shoes start getting holes and getting ripped real bad use Shoe Goo. I would rather have Shoe Goo sponsor then some shoe company... seriously I would skate same pair of shoes my whole life! Anyway for me Shoe Goo is one of the most important products in skateboarding!

Emerica - Stay Gold

"Emerica - Stay Gold" is one of the best skateboarding videos. Street skating with one of the strongest skateboarding team in history. Gnarly skating from all skaters in team that skate with speed and agressivnes. Mind blowing tricks, huge gaps, deadly rails when you watch it your jaw will be on the floor. Skating with such style and elegance makes it look like an easy thing to do in real life, but actually is harder then you think. When you would try one of those huge gap tricks you would think that you are absolutely nuts!
